Background Checks

Although we run our own in-depth national criminal background checks, we highly encourage families to do their own research in addition to what we offer. Our background checks include sex offender history, terrorist watch lists, and any other felonies and misdemeanors at the state and county level.

Hourly Rate

• Professional nannies typically charge at least $10 above their state's minimum wage. Qualified nannies have extensive experience, relevant certifications, a robust understanding of child development, and strong references. Oftentimes, they charge an additional 10-15% of their hourly rate for each additional child in their care.
• House keepers typically charge at least $10 above their state's minimum wage.
• House Managers/ Family Assistants typically charge $10-20 above their state's minimum wage.
• Newborn Care Specialists typically charge $20-25 above their state's minimum wage.

Benefits

Generally, families will offer their nannies, house managers, and housekeepers an array of benefits. These can include, but are not limited to: paid holidays, paid sick days, PTO, and a health insurance stipend. Negotiations take place directly between the candidate and family.

Trials

It is standard practice for families to invite nanny candidates to a paid trial period before offering them the position. Trials can range in length and are beneficial for both parties to see if the household dynamic is a good fit.

*Ultimately, these details are up to the candidate and the family. Although these are the general industry standards, some applicants may choose to charge less/ more due to a teaching background or several certifications.
